Fundraiser

I had said that I was going to hold off on posting anything like this till I was in dire need. Unfortunately, that time seems to be coming and quickly.

No more than two years ago, my old computer died. I had $300 to replace it and so got what I could for the money -- then eventually and over time upgraded it as much as it could be. And now, a mere two years later, it's dying. The external DVD-R has gone. I can't run Word and Excel at the same time. I can only sometimes run Firefox and iTunes at once. And Photoshop? Forget it: that requires going into the Task Manager and cutting off background programs before it'll even launch, hence the recent lack of new icons and wallpapers.

So I'm looking towards a new computer. I think everyone by now knows I'm an Apple girl. I'm not looking for top-of-the-line. In fact, the one I have my eyes on is this 20" one. It is refurbished and last generation, and so it's quite a bit less than a new one.

I am running a fund raiser via PayPal and Fundable.com, trying to get the money up to afford this, since I can't do it on my own. Not and have the money up before the current computer gives up the ghost. I am currently accepting donations through PayPal at the link below.

Below that is a current counter on the amount I have towards the computer. I'm only trying to get up a minimum of $660 ($600 for the computer and $60 in Fundable.com fees). That'll go a long way to helping me offset the cost of the computer and the tax. Anything over that will go towards programs and AppleCare.
